​Praised for his "rich and deep countertenor voice" (Boston Musical Intelligencer) with a "dramatic edge" (Herald-Tribune), U.S. based Malaysian countertenor Wee Kiat CHIA's 2022/23 season brings concert performances throughout Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other cities in China virtually on top of his engagements in the United States, amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Summer of 2023 opens with a 5-performance Cantata Concert Tour with Bachfest Malaysia, followed by his collaboration with International Christian Choral Conductor Society in their International Christian Choir Festival as a guest performer and a vocal instructor. As a vocalist, he will join Viva Bach Peterborough and Upper Valley Baroque in their spring concerts in New Hampshire. He will also make his debut performance with the Sebastians in New York City in April 2023.

Wee Kiat was the soloist for the West coast premiere of Matthew Aucoin's ​The Orphic Moment at the Music Academy of the West, as well as the Florida premiere with the enSRQ, both under the baton of the composer. He was a 2017 finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions New England Region, and in 2013 won first prize in the 8th Yin Qi Singing Competition in Malaysia.
